4th Birthday Festivities

We love a good birthday at the Mosier home.  Birthdays are a pretty big deal in my book and they are also a pretty big deal when you're 4.  So we had 3 straight days of celebrating our big 4 year old this past weekend.

It all started Thursday at preschool.  Cade had requested cake pops, but I had a mom fail and completely botched them the night before.  So we went with special sprinkle birthday cookies instead.  I took the cookies to Cade's class where they all sang happy birthday to him.  So cute.  Then Cade and I headed to Sonic Happy Hour for one last treat as a 3 year old.

The next day (his actual birthday) we were up EARLY!  Cade couldn't be wasting anytime sleeping on his big day.  The streamers and balloons we had put in his doorway and on his chair were a huge hit!  Once Daddy got home from working overnight we had traditional birthday cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  Then it was present time!  My amazing husband built an AWESOME sandbox for Cade in the backyard.  He loved it!  Perfect for our little construction/digging loving boy.  However it was 19 degrees that morning so Cade only got to play for a few minutes.  It's rough having a February birthday.  Thankfully its been warmer this week and the sandbox has had plenty of playtime.

After a fun filled day of playing with friends at another birthday party and special Mommy/Cade playtime while the babies napped it was off to Chuy's for dinner.  The boy wanted the special push pop ice cream you get with the kids meal there.  Thank you Chuy's for catering to my ice cream loving child so I could enjoy some chips and creamy jalapeno!
Then on Saturday it was PARTY TIME!  I didn't have it in me to do a huge party this year so we just had a few friends over for hot dogs and cookie cake while the kids played.  Thankfully the weather was nice and the boys ran crazy in the backyard.  Everyone had a blast! Cade decided last minute he wanted a Jake and the Neverland Pirates party.  So we had a Jake cookie cake.  Then 20 minutes before the party started Cade informed me he needed his Jake costume.  What?!  Need a bit more notice buddy.  Thankfully a red headband wrap sufficed him.

At the end of the night as I was putting Cade to bed he looks up and asks, "Mommy, am I 4 now?"  Yes, buddy you are officially four.  I love you and hope you had a great 4th birthday!!
