O Christmas Tree

One of our family traditions is to kickoff the Christmas/Advent season by putting up the Christmas tree the few days after Thanksgiving.  This year was a little different and we got a REAL tree!  I've always wanted to try one out but we had a fake one that we always used.  Somehow our fake tree got left in Fort Worth or lost in the move (still not sure how one loses a Christmas tree, but we did) and we are trying out a real tree.  I LOVE it!  It's my new favorite and I think we will be going this route for at least the next few years.
Before
Cade is extremely into all things Christmas this year!  It's the best.  So he was very into putting up our tree and decorating it.  I will say that decorating a tree with a 3 year old and 19 month old is fairly challenging, but we had a blast.  I finally set aside my dreams and aspirations for the perfect looking tree and I must say it was very freeing and much more enjoyable!  So our tree may be lopsided with ornaments but it has character and it is ours.

Another tradition we have to go along with tree decorating is Christmas pajamas.  I give the kids their Christmas jammies to wear while decorating the tree.  I'd rather them get to wear them all season then wait until Christmas Eve.  So fun!  This year we also added some cookies and hot chocolate to the agenda.  Fun was definitely had by all!

Now that's a serious hot chocolate mug. I loved live trees, but when I started breaking out in hives whenever I decorated or took it down, we decided to go the artificial route to keep Gramma from blotchy skin and itching. Real trees smell sooooo much better. Love you all.
