Spring Time

We are embracing Spring time around here.  The boys and I spend most of our days outside, whether in our back yard or at the park.  A couple of weeks ago Matt worked the evening shift and we were outside every night from the moment they got up from nap until bedtime!  So thankful for beautiful weather.
However, with springtime comes thunderstorm season.  We live right smack in the middle of "Tornado Alley," which was my biggest concern in moving here.  I knew I'd have to face my fear of severe storms at some point, but had no idea it'd be so soon!!
This past weekend we had some pretty severe weather across the state.  Friday there was a tornado that touched down only a few miles south of us!  This was the first time in my life I had to have a 'tornado plan' and I was not the most prepared.  After Friday I learned everyone's shoes and my purse need to be by the door at all times during threats of severe weather.  I may or may not have dragged a shoeless 3 year old and pantless baby over to our neighbor's house to take shelter on Friday afternoon...
Saturday the worst of the storms headed north of us and we only had a strong thunderstorm that night.  I'm so thankful for our new friends the Bristers, who stayed with me and the boys overnight on Saturday while Matt was working.  Cara Jane and I survived our first bout of Oklahoma storms and had celebratory donuts on Sunday morning:)
