Cade:2.5 year update

How can it be that you are over half way to 3?! That is just crazy!

Oh 2.5 such a fun, yet challenging age. Here are some things Cade is up to these days...

He loves playing basketball, 'hide and seek' (him hiding under his sheets and you 'finding' him), working in his construction site outside, reading books, helping Mommy cook, playing with cars, swimming and being with his friends. Some of Cade's favorite foods right now are chicken nuggets, Chick Fil A, spaghetti, hot dogs, soy yogurt, applesauce with sprinklers aka sprinkles, cereal, waffles, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe and fruit snacks. Also, just this past week he has had a new found interest in green beans and broccoli! Thank you Elmo's world for teaching hims that veggies are good!

Thankfully he is still a great sleeper! He sleeps until around 7:30 every morning and normally takes about a 2.5-3 hour nap every day!! Not sure how I could make it without those long afternoon naps:)


Cade's imaginative play has really taken off in the past couple of months. There is always some sort of giant or tiger loose in our house. We've also entered into the world of good guys vs. bad guys and all the pretend shooting involved with that. Oh life with boys....crazy how they just know how to do certain things.


This fall we are going to start 'Cade' school a few mornings a week. Basically just a set aside, structured Mommy/Cade time while Carter naps. He can already recognize a few of his letters, most of his colors, and can count to 10. So we're just going to go from there doing a letter, color, number and shape of the week. I am really looking forward to this special time.
