A Day in Our Life...

I've seen this idea on several blogs lately and I really liked it. I want to remember what our days were like with 2 little boys. So here's a day in our lives on a day where we had nothing really planned.

5:15am
Carter up for his early morning feeding. This kid is a champ and has been sleeping 8-9 hours straight the past few days. Luckily he goes right back to sleep after this and although I should've just stayed up I crawl back into bed. Most days I try and get up at 6.

6:45am
I get up, grab some coffee and enjoy a few quiet moments with Matt before he heads to work

7:15am
Cade gets up and Matt heads to work. I start a show for Cade. Today his choice was High School Musical 2 (we really need to work on his obsession with this show). I get some Jesus time while he watches his show.

7:40am
Cade comes in the kitchen asking for breakfast. He's a huge fan of breakfast and ate 3 bowls of Life cereal today. Seriously, what am I going to do when he's 16!?!

8:00am
Carter wakes up for the day. I feed him, while Cade gets a few more minutes of HSM2.

8:30am
Time to get everyone dressed! I get Cade dressed first and he heads to 'work' outside on his construction site. Meanwhile I get Carter and myself dressed and start a load of laundry.

9:00am
Cade comes in and we work on our color of the week(blue). My goal is to have him learn his colors by the end of the summer. We gather all his blue toys today and put them in a bucket. Carter hangs out in his bouncy. He's such a content little baby!

9:30am
Put Carter down for a nap. Then Cade and I have some play/craft time. Today we blew blue bubbles onto white paper. It turned out really well and Cade thought it was super cool.

10:00am
We fought a few fires around the house..

10:15am
Snack time! This morning that was original goldfish, a few marshmallows and half a banana. I finish putting my makeup on while he eats.

10:30am
Carter wakes up and we all read books in Cade's room. I've become obsessed with our local library! We try and go once a week to get new books. Helps with not having to read the same ones over and over :)

11:00am
Carter's hungry, I feed him while Cade watches a few minutes of Sesame Street.

11:30am
Lunchtime! Carter sits in his bouncy seat while we make/eat lunch. Have I mentioned how content of a baby he is:) Today lunch for Cade consisted of pepperonis, bread, grapes and strawberries. A 'giant' also joined us for lunch and ate Cade's bread. Cade's imaginative play has really been taking off lately.

12:15pm
Put Carter down for another nap. Cade and I go outside for a popsicle. He stays out and plays for a bit and I come in and clean up lunch.


1:00pm
Read a few more books and put Cade down for nap

1:15pm
QUIET!!! I wipe down the bathrooms, check a few emails and decide what to cook for dinner. Then I lay down for a bit of rest time myself thinking Carter will be up within the hour.

3:00pm
Carter finally wakes up, tired boy. I feed him and we fold some laundry while we wait for Cade to wake up.

3:30pm
Cade gets up. We get a snack (goldfish, a couple marshmallows and a bowl of cheerios) and wait for Daddy to get home!

4:15pm
Daddy gets home! He somehow chipped his front tooth on the way home, so we frantically call around to get him a dentist appointment for tomorrow!!

4:45pm
Put Carter down for a cat nap in the swing. I start dinner while Cade and Matt play.


5:30pm
Dinner! I made this new recipe tonight. It was easy and pretty tasty! After dinner Matt cleans up the kitchen, Cade plays and I feed Carter.

7:00pm
Head to church for our summer lifegroup.

9:00pm
Home and put the kids down! Matt works out and I work on some Sports Camp stuff.

10:30pm
Good night!! Ready to hit the ground running again in the morning.
