Happy Birthday Ernie!!

Despite the fact it’s a little cliché (and the Mosiers aren’t usually down with cliché), I think it is very appropriate for me (Matt) to publicly complement my wife on her birthday. She is truly an amazing woman (and not just because she’s stuck with me for 8 ½ years)! The way she faithfully and tirelessly manages our home astounds me. Home has always been a great place for me to come home too and that is because of the countless ways she serves me. Not only does she serve me, but she also serves Cade, her friends, her family, and CityView Church very well. How she has time to do all of this, I’m not really sure, but she does and she’s awesome at it.

The past year has been our best yet. Here are a few things I love about Erin:
  • Her smile: It’s just the best.
  • Her laid back attitude to parenting: She is very laid back with Cade. Most of the time its me who is stressing about something Cade is doing and she’s just chillin’, not worrying about it all. She is very good at knowing when to let Cade explore and be on his own.
  • Her cooking: So good...at all the time. She makes a weekly planner with the meals for the week on it. I am often staring at it, salivating over the menu.
  • Her hospitality: She is always welcoming and accommodating to others. She has a great attitude about opening up the house to friends and family. While she likes it clean (and it always is, in my opinion), she has a great heart about letting others come over on short notice even if the house isn’t clean. I have a habit of inviting people over last minute and she is great about letting me do that and always providing a welcoming environment
  • Her servant’s heart: See above paragraph.
  • Her spiritual growth: Her growth over the past year, and especially the last few months, has been incredible. This past year was a rough season for us. God used that season to refine and develop Erin into a spiritually mature woman of God. She is hard to lead (in a good way) because of that. She is constantly challenging me (again, in a good way) as I try to spiritually lead our family. God uses her in so many people’s lives that its difficult to determine her impact for the Gospel, especially over the past year, but I know its far-reaching.
The list could continue (her laugh and sense of humor, her loyalty, her love for her family, her mad cleaning skillz, her love of ice cream, her love for March Madness...) but I will stop here for now.

Erin, I love you more than I can express. You are truly an amazing wife, mother, and best friend. I am looking forward to many, many more years with you. Happy Birthday!!

(Did I mention she loves Mexican food? Erin, I know you probably love that I put this picture on the blog for all the world to see...)

I am very, very luck to have a daughter in law like Erin. She is and I mean she is truly amazing in everything she does. Love you so very much Erin.

From the first moment we laid eyes on this precious girl, we knew she'd be something special. She had her moments as a teenager when we would have liked to swat her tail, but she's grown into a such a fine Christian woman and a fantastic mother. Cade is a lucky little boy to be blessed with Erin as his mother. God has been good to you both, and we wish you all happiness in the years to come.
We love you. From Grama and Granddad

Hey, happy birthday again. I saw your blog on facebook. It's fun catching up with your life by reading your blog. I can't believe it's been almost 9 years since I graduated from Midway! Whoa time flies. It sounds like you have an amazing husband (his name sounds familiar, did he go to Midway? Oh wait does he have a sister Lindsay?) and a beautiful boy with another on the way. Congratulations!
