Tonight we had our annual cookie decorating/Elf watching event. There was a huge mess in my kitchen and a little boy covered in green sprinkles, but we had a blast! We decided to forgo the cutout/icing decorating this year and just roll the cookies in sprinkles instead. This sounded like a much better option with an almost 2 year old :) Matt and I did do a couple of cut outs and ice them later for old times sake though.
Cade is really into helping me bake these days. It's so fun! Anytime I get the mixing bowl out he's pushing the chair over saying "Mommy, help" He's actually not that bad of a helper as long as I don't turn my back.

I put sprinkles in the muffin cups and let him roll the dough balls in the sprinkles

After that he discovered that you can eat the sprinkles :)

Enjoying his finished product

Some of Cade's creations

After that we plopped our sugar filled bellies on the couch at watched Elf. Surprisingly Cade lasted through the first 30 minutes of the movie before getting bored. Can't wait until next year when we'll have another little monkey in our kitchen!

Fun! I love your apron, Erin! (I have wanted one for a long time, but never go get one!) Merry Christmas!
Cookies look good. Cade looked like he had fun.
