Baby #2 Update

This pregnancy has gone by much faster than my pregnancy with Cade. Maybe that's because I'm too busy chasing a little boy around all day to sit and think about being pregnant :)

I'm now past the 12 week mark and starting to feel more normal again! This week I actually didn't feel the need to lay down every hour or go to bed at 8:30. Thankfully my 'morning' sickness (that lasted most of the day) is pretty much gone and food actually sounds good to me again.

I went in for a checkup today and we were able to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat! It was amazing...probably one of my favorite sounds in the world :) Matt was off today so we made it a family affair. The baby was moving around so much the nurse had a hard time getting the heartbeat to stay for more than a second. I think we may have another mover and groover on our hands! Cade was a little unsure of that fast little heartbeat sound and really just enjoyed playing in the waiting area.

We are immensely thankful for this little life growing inside of me. I feel that I've cherished every moment more this time around and continue to just stand amazed at how our Creator is knitting together this baby inside of me. These past 12 weeks have not been easy and have been often plagued by fear, but I am continually reminded of the goodness of my God. He is good NO matter what and I trust in His plan for our family. This old hymn has been an encouragement to me these past months. It is such a beautiful picture of clinging to Christ alone.

"My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

So glad you are out of your first trimester!! Whoop!

Even though it has been hard I am thankful at all the Lord has taught y'all through this journey.

We love y'all and that sweet new little baby! I think we need to go for opposite genders again... another arranged marriage would make holidays super easy! ;)
