Christmas Part 3 - The Finale!

The original plan was to drive to Waco and back on Christmas Eve, however we decided against driving back since I-35 was almost completely iced over near Fort Worth.

So we stayed the night with my parents in Waco and had Christmas morning with them.

It can be a ride-on too!! Thanks Nonnie & Poppie!

All these new toys, yet he still wants to play with my cell phone

After presents and the annual Christmas morning quiche we packed up and headed back here so Matt could go to work (bummer, I know)

Since I had already planned to have my parents, siblings and grandparents here for dinner on Christmas night they still came a couple of hours after we got home. I was so thankful they came to keep me company all day while Matt was at work! I really enjoyed having them all here and cooking dinner for them. I felt like a real grown-up planning a big Christmas meal.

The next morning we had finally had our own little Christmas with just the three of us. It was nice to just relax and enjoy watching Cade unwrap the few presents we gave him.

Excited about his new books!

Overall we had an amazing Christmas season! No, it did not turn out like I had planned, but God used this experience to show me that Christmas isn't about traditions (new or old), presents, perfection, food, the perfect family photos or a specific day. It's about Jesus, coming as a baby, to take away our sin.

"Behold the Lamb of God" by Andrew Peterson
Behold, the Lamb of God
Who takes away our sin
Behold the Lamb of God
The life and light of men
Behold the Lamb of God
Who died and rose again
Behold the Lamb of God who comes
To take away our sin

Love all the pictures...especially the ones of snow b/c I wasn't the one in them!! Are you gonna do books as a tradition for stockings? I'm getting old, all about the traditions now for some reason. Its great that you're developing his love of books so early. Stay warm!
