My Preschooler

Today was a big day in our house!  Cade had his first day of Preschool!!  This kid has been talking about going to school for a year now.  This idea of school may or may not have stemmed off his early exposure to High School Musical, but who really knows.  We have been talking about today for weeks and alas the day finally arrived.  He had a hard time going to bed last night from all the excitement.  His prayer before bed was so cute..."Dear God, Thank you that I get to go to school and that I get to eat lunch there." After putting him down I made him his first lunch for school and the mommy tears flowed.  I was having a hard time letting go even this tiny bit.  Thankfully no tears this morning, just full of joy and excitement for my sweet boy.  I know he will thrive at school and will meet some sweet new friends.

We chose a small Tuesday/Thursday program at a church in our area for him this year.  I think its going to be a great fit for him.  His teachers Ms Brooklyn and Ms Chio were super friendly and were shocked he had never been in any kind of school program before.  They said he jumped right in.  Carter and I didn't quite know what to do with ourselves today, but I'm so excited for this one on one time with him this fall.
When 2pm finally arrived I couldn't wait to hear all about his day!  On the way home he told me all about his new friend Caleb, singing songs, and playing outside with the boys with the striped shirts.  He did choose not to participate in craft time today, but not too surprising. He asked me several times if he could go back on Thursday.

Couldn't leave Carter out of the picture action.  He was very glad we didn't leave him at school today.  He had a bit of a freak out moment during drop off.  Don't worry Carter, you're still my baby and I won't be letting you go to school anytime soon.
Ready to go in the classroom!  He didn't even look back once he walked in.  Yesterday, he asked if I could just drop him off at the door.  This kid...what will it be like in a few years?!
We love you Cade and are so excited for your year in Preschool!!  We can't wait to see how much you grow and learn.
