Carter - 6 Months
Our monthly picture got a little more challenging this month. I even did 2 takes. This kid has grabby hands and he's quick!
I cannot believe we have a 6 month old on our hands! This kid just gets cuter everyday. We've had a fun month around here and our Little C is learning lots of new tricks these days. Here's what he's been up too this month...
Playing...Carter is a jumper! You put this kid in the Johnny Jump(door jumper) or exersaucer and he will just jump until his hearts content. He's still working on sitting up alone. Up until just a couple of days ago he wanted nothing to do with sitting on his own. He would immediately throw himself back as soon as we tried, but he's growing accustomed to the idea and will now sit for about 30 seconds before throwing himself back:) Baby steps. Carter also enjoys laying on a blanket next to big brother and 'play' cars with Cade. We have a few chunky plastic cars that Cade has deemed 'baby' toys and shares those select cars with brother. (we have some work to do in the sharing with your brother department). It melts my heart to see the 2 of them laying on the floor 'playing' together!
Growing...Carter weighs in at 16lbs 8oz and is 26 inches long. This puts him in about the 30th percentile for both height and weight. Looks like we have a little guy on our hands.
Wearing...Size 3 diapers and size 6 month clothes. Thankfully it hasn't gotten all that chilly yet. All of big brothers winter clothes are still a tad big, but should fit very soon.
Eating...Carter is still nursing about 5 times a day and is eating baby food once a day in the evening. So far he has tried carrots, avocados, peas, sweet potatoes and bananas. He's not a huge fan of peas and will only eat avocados mixed with bananas. The doctor said we could move up to 2 feedings of solids a day whenever we feel Carter is ready.
Sleeping...Thankfully we've had a much better month sleep wise! Carter has finally reached the sleeping for 11-12 hours straight at night. Oh what a difference a whole night of sleep makes for everyone:) He's also
napping much better, taking 2 good naps and sometimes a short little cat nap in the evenings.
At the beginning of the month Carter was super fussy and clingy. I was beginning to wonder where my sweet tempered baby went! However last week two little teeth popped through his bottom gums and ever since he's been much happier. He does prefer Matt or I over anyone and is not too keen on anyone else holding him if we're around. I don't mind being his number 1 love right now, though:)
Another little tidbit about Carter is that he is a bit of a goofball. He loves to hang his head upside, yell as loud as his little voice can and make crazy spitting/razzing noises. Such a silly little boy. I love seeing bits of his personality start to come through as he grows. I can already tell that he is much different from his big brother!
We love you sweet boy and look forward to another month with you!

I see a bit of Cade in him in the first picture. Can't believe he is already 6 months old. Nash told me the other day how much he is really missing his buddy. Maybe when we see y'all in November they will both be sitting and can have some fun play time!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that first picture of him in the jumperoo. He is seriously about jumping!! Pearson JUST started putting weight on his feet so he is just now figuring out how to bounce in his exersaucer. I want to get one of those jumperoo thingys!!
