Frugal Tip Thursday

Stockpiling. It sounds crazy and cluttered, but it has seriously helped bring our budget down.

Over the past month or so we've been buying in bulk when things like meat, granola bars, cereal, etc go on sale. When paired with coupons we've gotten amazing deals on these things! I was a bit skeptical at first and stressed as to where all of it was going to go. However, my husband talked me into doing it and boy has it paid off!! I don't think I've had to pay full price for meat all year. It also helps to have a good stockpile so you can menu plan around what you already have. I have not had to grocery shop some weeks except for bread, milk and fresh produce because I already had everything for the weeks meals on hand. All you have to do is watch the ads for your store and when things go on sale(for a really good price) use your coupons and buy several at one time.

A word of caution on stockpiling, be sure that you are only buying things you know you will actually use and that are on sale. There's no use in having a huge stockpile of items you know you never eat or cook with. Also, be sure to only buy things that do not expire or that you can freeze for later.
