Yesterday we said our final goodbyes in Fort Worth.
We went back to close on the house and pack up all our belongings. We
are so thankful for the time we spent in this house. So many memories!
I'm not the most sentimental person but as I walked through that empty
house one last time yesterday I was flooded with emotion as I remembered
all that happened in those walls the past (almost) 2 years.
Here are some fun memories from Costa Mesa...
- We had lots of visits from out of town family and friends
- Added a furry friend to our home
Many celebrations
Lots of work in the 'construction' site in the backyard
The loss of Baby Joy
The joy of bringing Carter home from the hospital
- Hosting my first Thanksgiving
There
were all the major events during our time at the house, but the things I
remembered most as I took one last walk through were the everyday
moments. The memories of family dance parties, hide and seek, rocking my
babies in their rooms, long chats at the table with Matt and playing
out in the backyard. These memories aren't necessarily tied to a
specific house, but to specific people. For me, home is not a specific
house or location. Yes, I loved that house and it was perfect for us and
it was comfortable. However it was just that, a house. Home is being
with my husband and children wherever that 'home' is located.
So
as I say goodbye to Costa Mesa, I remember all the good times and know
that there are many more to be had in our new house in Norman.
