1) The fire station across the street. I can now tell the difference between an ambulance and a fire truck based only on the sounds it makes.
2) Trains are loud, especially when you can't see them and its 1 AM.
3) William J Bryan must have a fair share of motorcycle gangs. It seems like every night (anytime pass 10), a herd of motorcycles (or maybe loud trucks) comes rumbling by shaking the house.
We have learned to ignore these.
I also put in some speakers in both rooms of the house so we can have music in all the rooms. Anytime you come over you could hear anything from Mae to Robbie Seay Band to High School Musical. This adds to the sounds of our home. We both really like music so are pretty much jamming to something all the time.
But last Sunday, God blessed us with something very unexpected.
In case you didn't know, Erin is an amazing pianist. She has played since she was 4. I loved hearing her playing whenever we were in Waco. However, when we came to A&M she didn't get to play as much, but that is all changing. Last Sunday we were given a piano. Erin's church back home is remodeling and had some pianos that they didn't need anymore so we were able to get one.
Here is a picture:
I am very excited about having this in our home. Erin plays now when I do the dishes (some other times too). Its great.
Now I am beginning to understand what our home is suppose to sound like....
